In the early 1950s, Don Raul Welchez bought Finca Santa Isabel. He loved farming and good coffee, so he worked hard to produce high-quality coffee from the start. Despite the ups and downs of coffee prices, his dedication paid off, and more people started appreciating the excellence of Don Raul’s coffee.
In the 1970s, he expanded to offer his coffee to customers in the region. By the mid '90s, Don Raul’s two sons took over and named the coffee brand Café Welchez. Today, they still run Finca Santa Isabel, ensuring that Welchez Gourmet coffee maintains its high quality.
For over half a century, Finca Santa Isabel has been a realization of Don Raul's vision—a place where families can earn an honest living. The farm is not just a coffee producer; it's also a heaven for wildlife. Through responsible land, water, and forest management, the farm has become a natural classroom where young people from around the world can learn about agroforestry and coffee.
“Above all, Santa Isabel is a place where visitors can 'feel at home', to find a table ready to enjoy a cup of coffee “Welchez”.
